Early Help

At Ryelands Primary and Nursery School, we understand that some families will need a bit of extra help sometimes- there is no shame in this. Some of the common reasons why families might need additional support are:

  • Issues with housing
  • Financial difficulties
  • Mental health difficulties
  • A child who is disabled, has certain helath conditions or has additional needs
  • Difficulties with managing children’s behaviour
  • Trouble with routines and boundaries at home
  • Children with additional needs

If you feel that you need help with anything at all, it is always best to get help early on to avoid things escalating. A member of staff from the pupil support team can meet with you and complete an Early Help Assessment. This is a tool that all agencies in Lancashire use, from midwives, health visitors, schools and many more. This is a way of understanding everything that is going on for a family, and it allows everyone involved to make a plan for how to help. This is all completely voluntary and it is led by the family- it is NOT something that is done to them. More information can be found here.
