6R Class Page

Welcome to 6R! The adults in our room are Mrs Reddy and Mrs Saban. On Friday morning, the children are taught by Mr Hyde.

Key information:

  • We expect our children to read every night and the children will receive a special treat at the end of half term if they’ve done so.
  • We would like spellings to be practised frequently and the children to practise their times tables on TT Rockstars.
  • Please make sure you have your PE kits for Tuesday and Friday.

If you ever have any concerns or questions, do not hesitate to come and see us!

Autumn 1 –  Glorious Greeks

We are learning about Ancient Greece. We will look at their lifestyles and compare to our culture in the UK.  We will then move onto Light.

Autumn 2

We will look at World War Two. We will look at the impact on people’s lives in Britain and are also planning a visit to look at artefacts. We also visited Central High where we completed a heart dissection.

Spring 1

We will look at Power this half term and visit Heysham Power Station where we will learn lots about the source of energy as well as having a tour of the station.

The children have explored circuits and learnt the circuit symbols.

Spring 2

We will look at Survival and the evolution of plants and animals and how they survive in their environments.  We will explore the continents and climates of each region.

Summer 1

We will be revising; ready for the tests in the week beginning 12th May.  Children have additional resources they can access on Google Classroom and from their teacher.
