Walk to Lancaster Fire Station
March 20, 2026Reception visited their local fire station as part of their learning about people who help us. During the visit, they explored the fire engine and showed great curiosity about the equipment, including the “jaws of life.” Many children asked questions and listened carefully to the firefighters’ explanations.
The children had the opportunity to spray water using a fire hose. They demonstrated good control and showed excitement and confidence when taking part. Several children also enjoyed dressing up as firefighters, engaging in imaginative role play and discussing the role of firefighters in keeping people safe.
Throughout the visit, the children behaved exceptionally well. They walked safely to and from the fire station, staying together as a group, following instructions, and showing awareness of road safety. They listened carefully to adults and responded appropriately, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and cooperation.
We had a brilliant experience and all the adults were so proud of the children.
