Shelby visited nursery again!

We are very lucky at nursery because we have another visit from the school tortoise, Shelby. We learnt that tortoises and turtles are different and that Shelby lives on the land whilst turtles can live on land and water.
Today the children took turns to stroke Shelby the tortoise, the children were great at asking questions or making statements about Shelby the tortoise. Someone asked “ When does the tortoise poo.” Anther person asked “ Why does Shelby drink water?” We were very impressed when another child replied “because he needs to stay hydrated”. The children also used some fantastic adjectives to describe Shelby such as: bumpy, smooth, soft, hard.
