Outdoor Provision
April 26, 2026This week, we have continued to enhance our outdoor provision by following the children’s growing interest in exploring the natural environment and investigating how things work. The children were highly engaged in creating a bug hotel, carefully selecting natural materials and showing curiosity as they searched for and observed bugs in their habitats. They worked collaboratively, sharing ideas and demonstrating care and respect for living things.
We also adapted our outdoor space by moving the mud kitchen, which sparked renewed interest. The children eagerly explored the area, using natural resources to mix, pour and create, showing imagination and creativity.
In addition, the children thoroughly enjoyed investigating water play using drain pipes. They worked together to explore how water travels, problem-solving how to control the flow so it could be caught at the other end. Through this, they demonstrated curiosity, tested ideas, and used mathematical language such as “full,” “empty,” “more,” “less,” “fast,” and “slow.”
Across all activities, the children developed their communication, cooperation, and physical skills while actively exploring, creating, and making sense of the world around them. 🐞🐛💧
