October News from Breakfast & Afterschool Club
November 14, 2025October has been a wonderfully busy and exciting month at Breakfast and Afterschool Club, filled with new experiences, delicious food, and plenty of seasonal fun!
One of our highlights was a special outdoor cookery session with Mr. Grist, where the children learned how to prepare apple crumble from scratch. From climbing the trees and picking our apples from our very own orchard, to peeling and chopping to mixing the crumble topping, everyone got involved—and of course, the best part was tasting their warm, fresh creations at the end!
We also made beetroot crisps, the children picked the beetroot from the allotment, washed and chopped and added it to our brand new air fryer.
At Breakfast Club, we were treated to something extra special: homemade smoothies shared from one of our parents’ own chef-inspired recipes. The children loved choosing their ingredients, blending the fruits, and enjoying a healthy, colourful start to their day. The children also enjoyed sharing the smoothie with their teachers. A huge thank-you to our talented parent chef for sharing this delicious idea with us!
To round off the month, we enjoyed a spooktacular Halloween Week! The children got creative making Halloween punch, complete with creepy ingredients and lots of giggles. Costumes, crafts, and themed activities made the week full of fun and festive excitement.
We loved seeing the children try new foods, learn new skills, and celebrate together. We can’t wait to see what next month brings!
