Counting sets of objects

We have been learning to count a small set of objects.
The rules we learnt to do this are:
1- put the objects in a line to make it easier to count.
2- Give each object a number name.
3- Start counting at number 1.
4- Touch each object with your finger and say the number name from 1.
(This is called 1:1 correspondence).
