Big Birdwatch

January 11, 2026

Last week we were very lucky in nursery to have some special visitors from rewilding roots. Together we made bird feeders and were told why it is important to feed the birds in winter. The children carefully mixed the birdseed, fruit and fat together and used their motor skills to squeeze it all together and press it on to the sticks. After we had hung the bird feeders we got to use binoculars to look for birds. The children spotted a flock of geese flying in the sky, crows and gulls. The children really enjoyed spotting the birds they had seen in the picture book too.
