Year 5 – Pine’s Pencil Cases

In Pine Class, we have been looking at what makes a good pencil case. We discussed what it needed to do as well as how sustainable our plastic pencil cases were. We decided that a felt pencil case would be better. We looked at a variety of pencil cases that were on the market and used these to design our own. We have used our designs and our sewing skills to start making them. We have used running stitch, back stitch and blanket stitch to sew our zips, press-studs, elastic, cotton, silk and mesh to our pencil cases. Come back later in the week to see the finished products.
