At Ryelands, we believe our children should be independent and successful in all areas of life. As well as teaching the full breadth of the national curriculum, we teach key life skills through ‘Ryelands University for Life’. Our RUfL courses have been chosen using feedback from children, parents and staff.
RUfL courses are taught in phases: KS1, Lower KS2 and Upper KS2. The children across the phase work with different adults and a variety of children from across the four phase classes. This enables them to build relationships outside of their own classroom and to develop confidence. The children get to choose the course they complete each half term from a selection of courses carefully selected to give them key life skills. The children’s efforts and accomplishments are recognised with a badge that is displayed on their team-coloured sashes.
