School Governing Body 

Introduction

The Governing Body of Ryelands School is responsible for setting the ethos and vision of the school, celebrating the school’s successes, identifying areas where the school needs to improve and planning how to make those improvements. It makes sure that the educational performance of pupils is strong and that the budget is used properly and efficiently. 

The Chair of the Governing Body is Mr Andrew Jarman and he can be contacted by email a.jarman@ryelands.lancs.sch.uk or via the school office.

It meets in full every term, and there are three committees which also meet three times each year. 

• The Curriculum committee (Curr) is chaired by Ms Lizzie Holland. 
• The Finance/Staffing/Buildings/H&S (SFBH) committee is chaired by Mr Steve Murray. 
• The Standards and Effectiveness (SEC) committee is chaired by Mr Andrew Jarman.

  The Deputy Headteacher Mrs Sophie Sanders attends all meetings as an observer. Other members of staff are invited to attend when topics under discussion are in their area of school responsibility.
