Fireworks in nursery

The children have enjoyed talking about fireworks including the colours and the sounds they make. We have been representing fireworks to go on our display. Each child had to choose what colour firework they wanted to make and where they wanted it to go, using positional language- top, middle, bottom, left, right and centre. The children talked about the colour names and made the sounds of fireworks as they made the paint spread across the paper- bang, fizz, crackle, pop etc. The children counted how many fireworks they made. The children also developed their pincer grip by picking up glitter from their other hand and sprinkling it onto their fireworks.
