Our baby caterpillars in nursery

As part of our change and growth topic we have some baby caterpillars, that have hatched out of the eggs, like The Hungry Caterpillar story. We are watching them every day and seeing how they get bigger, longer and fatter when they eat the food. The children are using lots of comparative words to describe how the caterpillars have changed each day. We will watch the caterpillars until they climb up to the top of the pot and change into cocoons. Then I wonder what will emerge from the cocoons?
