People who help us- dentists. This week the pre-school children have been learning about cleaning our teeth and going to the dentist to check our teeth. We are reading an information book about Going to the dentist and a story book- Teddy visits the dentist. Our new vocabulary words are: dentist, plaque, decay and farewell. In the teddy visits the dentist story Teddy says farewell to his friends when he leaves. We are learning the word ‘farewell’ in nursery and modelling and encouraging the children to say it to each other and to their parents. We have been practising cleaning the big teeth with small and large toothbruses. We have also been using the tweezers to extract the teeth from the playdough mouths. All the children have taken home a teeth cleaning chart and we have been checking that the children clean their teeth every morning and every night.
