2019 – 2020

It has been a busy start to the school year in terms of Sports here at Ryelands. We have been getting ourselves organised for the year ahead and have already started to take part in many competitions. Keep an eye on our social media for information on how we have been doing. You can also check the timetable here for what extra-curricular sports clubs are available for your children this half term.

Play Leaders

Take a look at our extremely proud Play Leaders of 2019/2020. The children have gone through a tough process to gain their position. The Year 6 children wrote their own speeches which they then delivered with confidence to our Year 1 and 2 children. The children then each had to vote for the Leader they would like to deliver games in their playground and from this our 15 Play Leaders were chosen.

I just know they are going to do an amazing job!

2018 – 2019

Four children from our Year 3 classes have had a fantastic morning taking part in a Crown Green Bowling competition. they didn’t stop moving and most importantly smiling all morning and they came away with bronze medals. Well done team. They loved it so much that they asked if they could do the competition again next time!

What a fantastic afternoon the Play Leaders had at University of Cumbria. They had the chance to meet new friends from schools around Lancaster, Heysham and Morecambe, learnt new games that they can now deliver to children in school and they had FUN!

This week the Year 3 and 4 children have had their first chance at taking part in a netball competition at Moorside Primary School. Both evenings we were blessed with gorgeous weather and the children had so much fun. They improved with each match they played and showed some excellent skills. They also made some new friends too.
Miss Moore and Mr Hyde are excited for what the future years will hold for them!
Well done both teams!
