We encourage our children to make positive relationships with their peers, learning to share, take turns and communicate their needs to others. We always celebrate and praise our children’s behavior and learning. We are already very proud of them and the amazing start they have made to their school life.
Key Person System
In RH we have a fabulous key person system in place. Within the first few weeks of school, all staff spent a significant amount of time playing and making relationships with the children. Each child was allocated a key worker based on the adult they naturally sought out for comfort, enjoyment and support. Key workers are there to support your child’s well-being so they feel settled and happy at school. As a result children become more confident and capable learners. The key person works with all the children in the class, but take time to particularly observe and monitor the development of children in their key worker group.
We operate an ‘open door‘ policy in our class so please feel free to come and talk to us before or after school if you have any questions, worries or concerns. No matter how small it may seem, if it is important to your child then it is important to us too!
Reading at Home
‘Every Day a Reader’
Please make it part of your routine at home to read with your child everyday. It could be something you do together at snack time when you get home, or as part of their bedtime routine. You play an important part in helping to build their vocabulary and improve their understanding as they read. Please take a moment to write or put your initials in your child’s reading record book so we know you have read with them.
Please ensure your child places their reading book in the red key worker boxes every morning.
