Anglo Saxons: Who were they?
Our first topic is about the Anglo Saxons. We will be learning about how Britain changed after the Anglo Saxons invaded and what they contributed to life as we know it today. The homework for this half term is to cook an Anglo Saxon recipe. You will find this on Google classroom. We can’t wait to see what you produce!
Anglo Saxon Day!
The children of Year 4 have had a wonderful day. We started the day as Anglo Saxon settlers travelling to Britain. We then decided where to settle by
using a map of Lancaster and tracing what Lancaster would have been like in the Dark Ages. After that, we build our Anglo Saxon settlements for our
families. At the end of the day, we all enjoyed some Honey Shortbread made by the children! What a day!
Anglo Saxon Masks; Ceramics Workshop!
4R had an amazing time this morning at Morecambe Bay Academy learning all about the techniques of ceramics. They made an Anglo Saxon mask out
of clay by shaping it, scoring it and using slip to bind the pieces together! We cannot wait for them to be fired, so that we can paint and seal them.
Thank you so much for having us Morecambe Bay!
Autumn 2: How is France different to the UK?
In Autumn 2, we will be focusing on the country France and the continent of Europe! We cannot wait to explore the country by zooming with children in a French school,
tasting French food and researching and doing field work to investigate how France is different to the UK!
